Propuesta de arte público #2: Contra-Propaganda

Mi contribución para la exposición auto-gestionada Rabia Mierda en la fachada del Centro Social Okupado La Rosa consiste en difundir la imagen y las tácticas de propaganda política de Paul Joseph Goebbels, considerado el arquitecto del ascenso al poder de Adolf Hitler. Paul Joseph Goebbels (1897 – 1945) fue un miembro de la alta jerarquía del Tercer Reich, al que se le atribuye buena parte del éxito para implantar la agenda e ideología del nazismo. Des de su creación en 1933, Goebbels dirigió el Ministerio de Educación Popular y Propaganda. Con él monopolizó el aparato mediático estatal, y controló la vida cultural e intelectual de Alemania.
Nota: según varios expertos, el primer Ministerio de Cultura europeo fundado en Francia en 1958 -por André Malraux para el gobierno de Charles de Gaulle-, siguió el modelo del Ministerio de Educación Popular y Propaganda dirigido por Goebbels y creado por Hitler. Su objetivo también era hacer de la cultura un elemento administrado por el Estado. Europa, en octubre del 2024, tiene tantos Ministerios de Cultura como países hay en el continente.
Denuncia y Censura: Antes de inaugurar y según difundió el noticiario de TELEMADRID, la asociación Movimiento Contra la Intolerancia denunció esta obra a la Fiscalía General del Estado contra los Delitos de Odio y Discriminación.
A los dos días de la inauguración de la muestra colectiva, la policía se presentó en La Rosa para identificar a las personas responsables de la exposición. Las autoridades exigieron la retirada de toda la muestra, advirtiendo de las posibles consecuencias legales si no se cumplía.
My contribution to the self-managed exhibition Rabia Mierda on the façade of the Occupied Social Center La Rosa consists of disseminating the image and political propaganda tactics of Paul Joseph Goebbels, considered the architect of Adolf Hitler’s rise to power. Paul Joseph Goebbels (1897–1945) was a member of the high hierarchy of the Third Reich, to whom much of the success of implementing the Nazi agenda and ideology is attributed. Since its creation in 1933, Goebbels directed the Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda. With it, he monopolized the state media apparatus and controlled the cultural and intellectual life of Germany.
Note: According to various experts, the first European Ministry of Culture founded in France in 1958—by André Malraux for Charles de Gaulle’s government—followed the model of the Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda directed by Goebbels and created by Hitler. Its objective was also to make culture an element administered by the State. Europe, in October 2024, has as many Ministries of Culture as there are countries on the continent.
Complaint and Censorship: Before the opening and according to reports by TELEMADRID news, the association Movement Against Intolerance reported this work to the Office of the Public Prosecutor against Crimes of Hate and Discrimination.
Two days after the opening of the collective exhibition, police arrived at La Rosa to identify those responsible for the exhibition. The authorities demanded the removal of the entire show, warning of possible legal consequences if it was not complied with.
