With the support of two contemporary art institutions, we organized the Self-Sustainable Creative Economy Award with a budget of 9,500 euros. In order to use the negotiating skills of the heads of the art institutions, it was they who asked for funding from multinational companies which, as part of their business marketing policy, invest in culture. The jury decided to finance FreedomCoop, a European Cooperative Society that develops tools for economic autonomy, financial disobedience, self-management and self-employment for all.
In this way, we have used cultural management in order to make capitalist corporations finance a radically anti-capitalist initiative, creating a new way of diverting resources, using art as a “capital courier”.
